The IC Solution Business Unit commercializes and provides technical services related to software that assists the design of LSI and electronic circuit boards (EDA - electronic design automation).

Our company main customers are manufacturers of TV sets, video equipment, cameras, car navigation systems, mobile phones, copiers, automobiles, etc. These companies embed in LSI's their high-level know-how accumulated for many years in an attempt to achieve differentiation and improve competitiveness in terms of cost. On the other hand, as the trend towards miniaturization of semiconductor processes continues, the performance and manufacturing potential of LSI's are still ramping up. The role of LSI design is to connect these two aspects and give them a concrete shape. Reducing power consumption, improving testabilitty, and ensuring manufacturing feasibility (related to DFM, or Design for Manufacturing) are the 3 greatest issues faced by IC design. Using the newest EDA tools and handling them properly according to the characteristics of the LSI are important aspects when it comes to solving the problems above. Our company uses the know-how in supporting Cadence EDA products accumulated since our establishment to provide a technical support system at the highest level in Japan, helping customers build an optimal design environment.
