Purchase reinforces engineering services
to allow entry to LSI design staffing business
Yokohama, Japan, March 1, 2002 (JCN Newswire) - INNOTECH
Corporation, a leading Japanese semiconductor trading company,
approved today at its Board of Directors' Meeting a resolution
to purchase all the outstanding shares of Sanei Hytechs
Co., Ltd., an engineering company with core competencies
in LSI development technology.
"The introduction of this company to the INNOTECH
Group will make valuable contributions to the expansion
of engineering services of electronics systems & component
business," said company president Ryoichi Kawashima.
An unlisted company, Sanei Hytechs offers large clients
its staffing support service ranging from system development
to high-tech product design. Sanei Hytechs's staffing support
service includes work in the fields of communications,
imaging, sound sources and other key areas. Sanei Hytechs
has particular strengths in analog LSI design technologies.
Through the purchase INNOTECH will add staffing support
services for LSI design, a service which it has already
successfully implemented in its Electronic Systems Division.
INNOTECH, which boasts a range of strong technologies,
had been looking for a partner to whom it can entrust the
engineering services in its Electronic Systems Division
and the development of new devices in the Core Technology
Development Department. This need meshed well with Sanei
Hytechs' goal to further step up efforts in LSI design
by joining forces with a company with advanced technologies.
The companies reached an amicable agreement on the purchase,
and are looking positively toward the future.
INNOTECH, whose main business relates to Cadence's EDA
tools will be able to derive new synergies from the relationship
between this business and the LSI design business. Additionally
the acquisition will help INNOTECH to strengthen the effectiveness
of its sales operations relating to Cadence EDA tools.
Sanei Hytechs has obtained an ISO9001 certification, which
has contributed to the trust it has succeeded in winning
from semiconductor makers, system makers through its successes
to date in the LSI design business. Business results for
the year ended June 30, 2001 were strong, with sales of
2.3 billion yen and net income of 260 million yen.
INNOTECH will continue to consider strategic alliances
with companies in the LSI design business. In doing so,
it will add to its existing distribution functions a solid
presence in the LSI design consulting business. Simultaneously,
the company will enhance its engineering services and increase
the number of in-house developed LSI products it offers,
aiming for ever better results in this important industry.
